The establishment of the Spraying Machines Testing Laboratory (LIMS) for plant protection, in accordance with Harmonized European Standards (transposed into national regulations through Government Decisions, Ordinances, etc.), has enabled the accurate determination of the characteristics of such products at a competitive cost. Maintaining the quality level in line with European and international requirements can be achieved by addressing the following aspects:
- Analysis of the testing method for plant protection equipment;
- Defining the requirements for developing a model of the application means for the proposed method, enabling accurate measurement and evaluation of the characteristics of plant protection equipment;
- Developing the working procedures associated with the proposed method and drafting the technical documentation for the construction of the model for its application;
- Constructing a testing stand that enables the implementation of the developed method for the precise evaluation of technical characteristics of plant protection equipment;
- Conducting experiments using the testing stand to obtain data for validating the method;
- Accrediting the testing laboratory, disseminating the results, and organizing an international symposium.
he main technical characteristics of plant protection equipment that will be evaluated using the proposed method and model developed within the project are:
- Operating pressure (bar);
- Solution flow rate (L/min);
- Average quantity distributed by each spraying device (nozzle), (m/s);
- Distribution uniformity of the substance over the working height (%);
- Average application rate of the solution (L/ha);
- Instability of the application rate (%).
