The journal was launched in 2000, when was issued under the name of LUCRARI STIINTIFICE (INMATEH), ISSN 1583 – 1019, as a result of necessity of widening the scientific research output communication and spreading spectrum, being edited by The National Research-Development Institute for Machines and Installations designed to Agriculture and Food Industry – INMA Bucharest.
Starting with volume 30, no. 1/2010, the journal changed its name in INMATEH – Agricultural Engineering, appearing in print (ISSN 2068–4215) and online (ISSN 2068–2239) format.
The journal appears bilingual in English language and the abstract also in native language, three times a year: January-April, May-August, September-December. It is also possible to be published once a year.
The journal is acknowledged by CNCSIS as category B+ (2016) and beginning with no.1/2016 (vol.48) is indexed in Web of Science, originally produced by the Institute for Scientific Information(ISI), now maintained by Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters).
The edited articles frame within AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING, are as follows: technologies and technical equipment for agriculture and food industry, environmental-friendly agriculture, renewable energies, technical equipment testing, environment, transport in agriculture etc.
The articles are peer reviewed by experts from the country and abroad, involved in the above domains.
