Mission of the RDI department
The mission of the department is to carry out activities of scientific research (basic and applied), innovation and technological development in the field of processes, technologies and technical equipment for the mechanization and automation of works in agriculture and food industry.
Research directions and objectives
- Scientific substantiation of the processes in agriculture, food industry and the creation of new competitive technologies, tools and technical equipment compatible with the European research area specific to the concepts of SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE and FOOD SECURITY;
- Development of mechanization technologies and technical equipment for increasing the production capacity of agricultural lands and actions of structural quality preservation; elimination of soil erosion and degradation;
- Development of new technologies, products, practices, processes used in plant, vegetable, horticultural, aquaculture and fish production;
- Development of new technologies for the establishment, maintenance, harvesting and exploitation of biomass;
- Development of new technologies and technical equipment for the livestock sector;
- Development of new areas of interest: energy from renewable sources, biotechnology, organic agriculture;
- Realization of scientific research activities (fundamental, applicative and technological development) in order to identify and apply innovative solutions in the field of sustainable development and reduction of environmental pollution.
- Development of products based on “clean” technologies, aiming at restoring and maintaining a rational, long-term balance between economic development and the integrity of the natural environment, in forms understood and accepted by society.
- Development of environmentally friendly products from renewable materials by:
- Carrying out scientific research (fundamental, applicative and technological development) in order to identify and apply innovative solutions in the field of sustainable development and reduction of environmental pollution.
- Developing products based on “clean” technologies, aiming at restoring and maintaining a rational, long-term balance between economic development and the integrity of the natural environment, in forms understood and accepted by society.
